Erik Dixon Obituary

DIXON, Erik Bradley
1987 - 2023

Erik (sometimes referred to as Enrique, Dix, Binky, Dinky or Rolly) passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 5, 2023 at home, leaving behind a host of people he touched as a son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend and co-worker.
He was born on September 24, 1987 at Victoria General Hospital as the youngest son of Richard and Sherri Dixon. He had the good fortune to have an older brother Scott and they inspired each other to their respective successes and always had an unshakeable bond. He went from Mrs. Hill's preschool to Cloverdale Elementary - where he met his favourite teacher in Grade 2, and we know that she took a shine to the bespectacled little blonde-headed boy the first time he said "Hello Miss Muir". Erik graduated from Cloverdale, winning the Citizenship award, and went to Reynolds following his brother's footsteps into the CPP Rec program and graduating in 2005.
His working career was always in customer service from McDonalds to the Strath and Erik loved the interaction with customers and co-workers, and he treated them the same way he did family and friends - openly, honestly, with sincerity, and his beautiful smile.
He was a sports nut, with baseball being his favourite, which he also played at National and Lambrick Parks. He played soccer at Lakehill and enjoyed slo-pitch. He was an avid fan of CFL, NFL and NHL games. However, the thing he enjoyed the most, might have been watching Scott play sports, as Erik was his biggest fan.
We will keep those memories close - of his love of sports, both playing and watching - of his courage in facing his anxiety and panic disorders - all the while keeping and sharing his positivity and love for those around him. While he is not here with us now - he lives on in all of those he touched - and we are better for it.
Thank you all for sharing your memories of him with us - it has helped immeasurably. Thanks also for the cards, phone calls, visits, flowers, food and most of all those hugs.

There will be no service at this point. A Celebration of Life will be held, and details will be available soon.

Erik is one of my closest friends. We met online years ago and kept the friendship going. I will always remember his supportive attitude and his celebration of my accomplishments. I am absolutely devastated to learn of his passing. Even though we where a world apart I considered him to be a brother of mine. Sleep well brother. I will never forget you.

AJ and I were shocked and saddened to hear of the news. He was a good friend and always made us laugh. When we were having a bad day at work he would always know what to say to make us smile. We miss him terribly. Our condolences to the family.

Dear Sharri, Richard and Scot. I was shocked and bewildered by Erik's passing. What a horrible loss. I think the picture of Erik at the beach shows much about his personality. That is how I will remember him from now on. Through all the shock and dismay grief brings I know that you will remember how wonderful you were to him and he to you. Our deep felt condolences. Take special care of yourselves. Phil and Paddy Humble.
