John FORSTER-COULL Obituary
FORSTER-COULL, John Middleton March 21, 1919 to December 28, 2013 John passed away at home with his dear wife of 57 years, Geraldine, by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his 3 children: Lisa, Mary, and John, 5 grandchildren: Brittany, David, Robert, Emily and Caitlin, his son-in-law, Warren and daughter-in-law, Jayne. John was born in Cape Town, South Africa and came as a young boy to Canada with his parents and sister, Valerie. He went to school in Vancouver and Penticton where he made lifelong friends. During WWII, he joined the RCAF and was seconded to the RAF. He trained as a radar officer and was posted overseas to Northern Ireland and Western Africa. He received his electrical engineering degree from UBC in 1950 and he worked for most of his career with BC Hydro in power production in Campbell River and Victoria. John was a talented woodworker and made exquisite antique reproduction furniture. He was always building and repairing something in his workshop while listening to classical music. John will be affectionately remembered at a celebration of his life to be held in January.
