WESTON, Michael Ormond February 10, 1945 - July 20, 2022 Born In Victoria to Louise Frances (née Ormond) and Percy William Weston on February 10, 1945, Dad passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022. Dad was a hardworking and well-respected businessman in both Victoria and Vancouver. He liked to start his days early with a breakfast meeting, and could later be found chatting on the phone well into the evening. At heart, he was an entrepreneur who loved bringing people together and making ideas happen. Dad was also an avid boater with a love for classic wooden yachts. He was a member of the Royal Victoria Yacht Club since 1959, and when he wasn't busy working, he could be found tinkering on his boat, or out on the water with friends and family. Michael will be dearly missed by his wife Barbara and their 3 children Dean (Katarina), Lisa and Christopher (Jennifer) Weston, his grandchildren Natasha and Ivona Weston, William and Olivia Sinclair, and their father Steven Sinclair, his sister Sue (Mark) Batchelor and their children Andrea Eric and Michael. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre, at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallgardens.com

I was saddened to hear the passing of Mike. We had only got to know each other during his purchase of our 77´ wooden Monk McQueen, I believe he renamed her the Eagle Nest. Last time, I saw it active was up in Bella Bella, August 2021. We shared many stories and his closeness of family & friends. Just a real special guy!! Wished I had known him earlier, our time was too short together. Blessing Allan Skidmore

My condolences to all of the family, his colleagues and workers, I met Mike in my early days at the BC Archives' records program; those were heady days for all concerned; we maintain contact throughout my career, lunches and coffee to get updated on the exciting programs Mike was engineering and, of course, family. He has been a constant in my Victoria career; I shall miss our coffees and chats, always entertaining and always thoughtful. Adieu my friend
