Robert E. Braidwood

BRAIDWOOD, Robert E. Peacefully on August 3, 2015, Bert passed away in his 96th year after a battle with cancer. Bert is survived by his only daughter, Maureen Gail and her husband, Colin Wright of Oakville, Ontario. Bert's wife, Beryl preceded him in 2005. Bert has three grandchildren, David Wright of Winnipeg, Dr. Scott Wright of Waterloo and Janice Agnew of Burlington, Ontario and six great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all. In Bert's earlier years his greatest enjoyment was salmon fishing and in recent years the Legion became his place to go. He was a life long member of the Legion. Bert was a WWII veteran, serving overseas from 1939 to 1945 with the PPCLI in the Sicily and the Italian campaign. Bert had many friends at 909 Admirals Gate who were especially kind and helpful and the family would like to thank all for their generous time, especially during the final months of his illness. At Bert's request there will be no funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
