Dear Sherry, Trevor, and Alana,
We were so sorry to learn of Ron´s passing. I have very fond memories of our days playing slo-pitch together. He was a very talented athlete who was always so positive and encouraging. He was such a nice man, with a great sense of humor, who we feel very privileged to have known.
Our deepest sympathies are with you and your families.

RON STUBBINGS has been shooting since the early 70´s and has accumulated over 150,000 targets. He earned the 27 yard line over 25 years ago with over 100 honorary punches. Ron has over 230 HOA wins and has been a PITA All Star for fourteen years. His numerous accomplishments include wins in his native British Columbia, Washington State and Hawaii. As a member of the South Vancouver Island Rangers he has served on the board and assisted helping new shooters as well as raising money for trap upgrades. In addition to his many shooting accomplishments, he is a most generous and friendly gentlemen, who has many friends on both sides of the border. Upon his induction into the Hall of Fame in July he expressed a desire to join the Hall of Fame Committee. Without reservation we accepted at once, Ron will be a welcome member and a huge asset.

Dear Sherry,
I am so very sorry for the loss of Ron! It has been many years since we have spent time together, but just a while ago Brian and I were having lunch and we remembered the two of you fondly and I tried to find a contact for you shortly after, just to say hi to the two of you. Unfortunately my search skills aren't very good, so that call didn't happen. As you know Ron was Brian's best friend, my first crush at the age of ten, the brother I always wished I had and godfather to my first son. So many memories of Sundays helping my parents at the farm, Hallowe'en Parties, a trip to Seattle, my one and only hunting trip and going camping. We were so delighted when he met you! The years and circumstances change us, but many people remain in our hearts and certainly both you and Ron have had a special place there in mine. Sincere condolences to you and Trevor and Alana and their children from me and the Logan children. (Sean, Amber, Troy and Vanessa)
With love,
Jo Rundell Logan

Sherry - we met breifly many years ago. Ron and I were playing catch and Trevor decided to discover what was on the other side of the ball park fence.
Ron and I worked and played ball together for many years. He was a firefighter to be emulated and an officer to be respected and followed. There were a couple truly memorable water fights after brush and grass fires. Ron took the soaking in good humour, although he usually got his own back. Alana, I am sorry that we have not met. Trevor look to your father as an example of what a member of the Fire Service can be. You were lucky to have a father as liked and respected as Ron. He will be both remembered and missed.

It is with immense grief and sadness I send my heartfelt condolences to you Sherry and your family. After 20 years of retirement I recently heard a most recognizable voice call out to me - "Budsie". It was none other than Stubbs! As I responded he gave me a real Stubbs Hug. To know Ron was to know his hugs! His welcoming, cheerful smile was 'Built In'. Always appearing tidy and with a presence of professionalism - he was a treasure to work with. His uniqueness would be a challenge to achieve but a goal to pursue. He will be missed immensely but rest assured never forgotten

Thank you Ron. Thank you for everything you taught me in the trap shooting world. For looking over me when we travelled to the same shoot. For all the laughter and advice in both shooting and the living world. There will never be a gentleman like you. You are one of a kind. You are deeply missed. One more star shinning brightly. Rest in Peace.

Our sincere condolences to the entire Stubbings family. The sorrow of this tragic loss can only be softened by the wonderful memories of such fine athlete, gentleman and friend. We first met in 1963 when I moved to Victoria and we became instant friends. So much so, we were Best Man at each others weddings and the friendship grew stronger over 60 years of hunting, fishing and shooting together. Rest in peace our good friend, we will never forget your extra special persona.

Sheri & family - We are so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I use to get a kick out of the "men" getting together to go shooting, or hunting, you would have thought they were going on a holiday. Take care Sheri.
Love to all -Robyn/Alex & family
