Alan BERRIDGE

It is with heavy hearts we share the news of the passing of Alan (Al) Berridge, 77, of Newmarket, on Saturday November 20, 2021. Alan succumbed to a brief - but courageous - battle with lung cancer.
Born in Manchester, England, he was an avid Manchester City football fan and also the bass guitarist for his band, The Others. = Alan left England in the late 1960s to cross the ocean and start a new life in Canada for his family. He was a proud member of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada for close to 40 years.
He leaves behind his wonderful partner of many years Carmen, his two daughters Joanne (John), Carolyn (Steve) and son, Michael (Sadhbh). Also, his stepdaughters Cathy (Ralph) and Linda (Gary) and their children Erin, Sarah, Amanda and Reanna. A grandfather who shared his love of camping, fishing, and frugality with his five grandchildren Raine, Charlie, Kit, Conor and Sean, whom he loved dearly. Alan will be missed by his siblings Graeme (Helen) and Gillian (Greg), and all his nieces and nephews spread out over the globe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Aurora Royal Canadian Legion Branch 385 on Thursday, November 25, 2021, from 6-10 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Newmarket Food Pantry at www.newmarketfoodpantry.ca/donate.
