The Owen Family: Dave and I were colleages many years ago working in the Pickering Building. He was a wonderful man, good friend and epitomized all the best of a dedicated member of the Force. May he rest in peace.

To the Owen Family; I just got to know David Thru the Senior's Golf and must say that Dave was every bit the perfect Gentleman. We shared many giggles over some of the places where he served his country since I knew of most of them and could relate.

Please accept our condolence Betty and family. I found out about Dave's passing Wednesday morning and could not believe it. Every club needs members like Dave otherwise there would be no club at all.
Below is a message I received from Peter Clarke that he asked to pass on to you.
Pat,
Very sad news about Dave! I'm pleased that someone from the Tuesday group will give the eulogy..
I am leaving for P.E.I. Saturday morning so I will not be able to attend either the visitations or the funeral service. Please pass along my thoughts to Betty and the "kids". I only knew Dave through the golf on Tuesdays, but he struck me as a dedicated and kind person.

Dave was a very familiar face at the Poplar Grove Golf Club in Edwards. Even though he had a membership to play golf, he preferred to work around the course. In past years he took great pride in helping to maintain the bunkers, markers and bricks. This year he was part of a very active seniors’ group who took it upon themselves to trim the course of unwanted branches and foliage. Dave was very proud of his career and continued involvement with the RCMP. He was an active curler. Although it seemed like he curled more times than days in a week, he was always ready to spare for his friends at the Friday night Ottawa Carleton Catholic Teachers’ Curling Association league at the RA Center. He will certainly be missed by the many people who he was in contact with through out the year.
