Phil was loved and will be greatly missed by Anne, his loving and caring wife of 28 years; children Mathew (Theresa), Geoff, Rebecca (Jim); mother Sue (Bill); Diane, Dick (Gaye), Raymond, Lynda (Frank), Judy (Pat), Janet (Chris), Bryan; good friend "Kim-Co", as well as many other family members and friends. Predeceased by his father Donald, 1994. Born in Ottawa, Phil arrived in Victoria when he was 18 and married in 1976. Remembering you, Phil
Hard to believe 5 years have gone by already. You have a beautiful little 5 month old grand daughter, Melina. Matt and Theresa are great parents. Melina is a very calm baby with the cutest smile and such chubby cheeks!
I picked a few daffodils on my trek around the swamp today. I do that every March 6th - makes the house look bright and cheery - a happy moment in your memory.
Peace and love be with you forever, Anne

Awww Anne, just reading your entry and it moves me much to read about your 30th Wedding Anniversary with Philip. What a wonderful memory you have. It was good to read from you and very good for you that there was time for reflection. You remain in my heart and prayers. And I am sure Phil looked down on you smiling when you scared a few ducks away at that pond of many good memories.

God bless you real good.
Love from Josetta

HI Phil
I hiked down to the pond where we used to walk and bird watch together. It was calm and very peaceful over there. Many geese were flying in and landing as I walked by. There were a lot of ducks swimming about and I managed to scare a few of them. It was a perfect time for reflection, as today was warm and sunny just like 30 years ago on October 9 when we were married. It made me smile the rest of the day, thinking about how happy we were to be starting our life together!
I still miss and think of you a lot. I will always have your memory in my heart.
Love, Anne

I was thinking of you Phil as you would have turned 51 today!

I traveled to Ontario and visited with your Mom, Bill, your brothers and sisters, some neices, nephews and one great nephew. It was really nice to see every one.

We miss you and are keeping your memory alive.

Much love, Anne

We celebrated Fathers Day by having a BBQ in the back yard. Salmon, chicken, macaroni and ceasar salad, with blackberry up-side-down cake for dessert. This afternoon Becky, Amy, and Walker put carnations and roses in yours and Nana's vases.

We really missed you today. We would have had so much more fun playing croquet with you...

Lots of love Anne, Matt, Geoff, and Becky

I am sorry Phil, that I missed your Birthday. But here in Holland I raise my glass Heineken Beer.

You know, I have found a part time job as a nanny and had to work that day. In the morning I had a meeting with 2 other ladies to practise the worship for Womens Aglow, which was this morning in our Church. And at night I met with people who are looking for jobs; God called me to lead a Job Search Support Group in our church.

A few years ago you encouraged me in finding the job that would suit me. Thank you for your care and good idea's. This group we have empowers us with the Holy Spirit, while we look for jobs in the world and bring the Good News at the same time. We feel blessed to have such a group.

I am glad to have yet an opportunity to talk to you, Phil; like we used to do at IYT. I pray for Anne and your children and your mother. You are with Jesus now and you are having a party in Heaven! Hallelujah!

with love, Josetta

In remembrance of Phil to whom I dedicate my artwork for VBS for my church in NJ..

One tip of blue Thinking of you

mingling with white As if you might

Dawn.. dusk in one Never imagined palet begun

and neverending You my love sending

Gone you are But angel for sure

soothing words came once knocking on my door

And as I mix colors You come to mind

the way you were: gentle, loving and kind.

These sheets, 5.. one by one

I dedicate to you, green with yellow; white and blue

Created for children to have fun

secretly remembring how this friendship begun

In stillness one tear drop followed by a smile

honoring the time we spent for a while.

These paintings created for a higher cause

make me wonder, smiling, pondering, remembering

and pause...

One tip of blue Thinking of you

mingling with white As if you might

return.. can't wait..

Dawn.. dusk in one Never imagined palet begun

and neverending You my love sending

always..

To All of Phil's Family and Friends

I would like to thank you all for your kind thoughts, support, and prayers. May you all know that I am also thinking of you during this sad time.

A friend sent me this prayer today and I would like to share it with you.

Saint Theresa is known as the Saint of the Little Ways. Meaning she believed in doing the little things in life well and with great love. She is also the patron Saint of flower growers and florists. She is represented by roses. May everyone be blessed who reads this message. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost.

St. Theresa's Prayer:

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you....

May you be content knowing you are a child of God....

Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of you.

Thank you for writing such knid notes in Phil's Guest book. We will treasure it forever.

Love to all of you, Anne

I had the privilege of working with Phil at Waste Management. Not long after I started working there, I was sent out with one of the drivers to observe what their day on the truck entailed. They placed me with a driver they considered to be one of their better drivers, and that turned out to be Phil. Phil did his job and he did it well. He was respected and admired by so many people, myself included, and his passing is one of great sadness.

My sympathies are with you and your family at this difficult time. You will be forever blessed by Phil's presence and memories as you continue your journey through life.
