John and I came to Canada in 1953 from the UK. I was so proud of my little brother as I watched him grow up to be a person who cared about others and lived life to the fullest. We were separated for most of the next fifty years but kept in touch in various ways. I will miss him.

"Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life"

And John certainly lived life to the fullest.

But you left us behind...
Soar with the birds..
Condolences to John's family and all of his friends.

Miss you so much..I wish I could hug you one more time and hear your voice and your laugh...

John,
For so many your passing has resemblance of an eclipse. You owned an infectious charisma that surely touched the core of everyone who knew you. Your quest will always be a part of us.

We loved Johnny. He is a legend and the type of person this world needs more of. We new him for 17 years and are fortunate to have many wonderful memories. We celebrated his birthday last summer at Nitinat and spent a wonderful week together. What can we say... his passion for watersports, innovation, food, and friendship always set the standard. Whether he was windsurfing or kiting we loved to watch him shred. With his amazing talent, tenacity, and personality one could not help but be infected by his wonderful spirit. Truely a magical man who will be missed for years to come...

So shocked and sad to hear of John's passing. Although I only knew John through the dental office where I worked, I was caught up in his passion for life and always enjoyed hearing of his latest adventures. I'll always remember his ready smile.

Again as I said on the "BigWaveDave" site.
John was my friend and I loved him every minute I knew him.He made our work place a fun place to be and always picked me up when I was down.
That smile and laugh were to much to let me feel sad for to long.I know he would want me to pick up and be happy about his life now.
I have spent the time since I heard of his death riding my horse and Mt.biking knowing that this is how he would like me to get this sadness and pain out.
I am so sorry for his family and hope his memory will make them smile too.
