A jar of peanut butter and a wee dog on his tummy. That was my most favorite picture in memory of a most gentle and happy man. It wasn't what he said or did, it was how he made you feel. Always welcome and comfortable. Thank you Cal

Although Cal was with us in the lab only for a short while, he was truly an inspiring individual to work with - always positive, smiling, adding a ray of sunshine to otherwise cloudy days. He will be remembered fondly and sadly missed.

Dear Betty and family,
My thoughts are with you at this sad time. Cal will be missed. I had the honour of working with Cal in the Laboratory at the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
Even when he was diagnosed with his terminal illness, he remained cheerful, optimistic and grateful for a fantastic life and for his family.

I have loved my cousin, Cal, since I can remember. I would gaze up at him thinking he was the hairiest & handsomest man in his navy uniform when he would come to visit us in Vancouver.

Throughout my life, Cal has come in and out at various times. When we moved to the Island, it was great to see him & Betty more often and we felt that we were good friends and always enjoyed visits together.

I was sorry to hear of his passing, but so proud and happy for him that he made that final journey to Halifax to meet his new great granddaughter, Mariah. It must have been an exhausting trip, but it was his 'swan song' to touch the lives of those he loved one more time.

My heart goes out to Betty, Dale, & Paige, as well as the rest of the extended family. You will always be remembered by me with a big smile on your face, dear cousin.

Much love & many blessings in your next journey.

I had the pleasure of working with Cal in the early seventies. His strong sense of humour and jovial spirit always radiated the company which he kept.
Those fortunate to have known Cal were given a life time gift that the promise of tomorrow always had a ray of sunshine to keep one warm even on the darkest days.

Respectfully; James Allan
