Dr. Claxton left an immeasurably valuable legacy for generations to come through his work to revive SENCOTEN. We feel honoured to have met with him on numerous occasions through our work and our thoughts are with his family. His passing is a great loss to the community but, through his inspiration, may many more rise up to carry on his good work.

It was a great honour to learn from some of Dr. Claxton's family members during Tribal school visits. They give credit to his character and purpose in this life. I remember well my favourite bag of school clothes passed on to me by the Pelkey family. I wore those clothes in high school and felt more confident about going to school in the 1960s. You and yours have been a blessing to my family since many years ago. May you all be comforted in your loss and may we all look forward to spending eternity together, to learn to know each other better.
