I worked with Peter in the late 1980s at Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science (1939-1991). I found Peter to be interested in all types of science, even in Astronomy (I was Astronomical Observatory Coordinator and a Planetarium Lecturer at the time), even though this was not his main concern. I reconnected with Peter, and had a few discussions with him over the ASTC mail group, in the last few years. He did much to help Buhl Planetarium and, and I will miss his expertise, as well as his calm, unassuming way of approaching problems.

I knew Peter for many years through my work in science museums and ASTC. He was a fine, highly intelligent man who contributed greatly to the field. We will miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Although we communicated via the Association of Science and Technology Centers' listserve, I never had the opportunity to meet him in person. He was wise and gave sage advice. We will all miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. I met him many years ago when my organization, the Association of Science-Technology Centers, was publishing his book Before the Blueprint, which has been used by people all over the world. Some years later, he and I tried to find the means to publish an update, which alas never happened. He also led an important study called "Roles of Affect in the Museum Visit and Ways of Assessing Them," which was ahead of its time in exploring emotional connections people have with museums they love. He was not only wise and well informed, but kindly and supportive to so many in the emerging science center field. He even made an immediate impression on my then-young daughter when she met him during a conference in Naples - he had such a warmly unguarded way about him. I will miss him.
