Bob and Marilyn Thom are celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 9. Next month, they will travel to Sunriver, Ore., for a family celebration of their 50 years of marriage.
Robert L. Thom and Marilyn K. Kauffman first met at a dance on Christmas night and have been dancing ever since. They were married in Winthrop, Iowa, on June 9, 1962. They moved to Palmer in 1971 with their four children, Randy, Kristy, Sheri and Barry.
Robert Thom founded and managed Machinery Services, Inc. and Budget Feed & Farm in Palmer and retired a few years ago. Marilyn Thom retired as a secretary from Sherrod Elementary School after 20 years of service. Both are active in the community and spend their time gardening and traveling. They are long time parishioners of St. Michael's Catholic Church. They have six grandchildren.
Their love and marriage commitment has been a wonderful example to their family and friends. Please join their children and grandchildren with congratulating them on 50 amazing years and wishing them many more. Happy anniversary Mom and Dad, we love you!
