Howard and Margo Morgan of Anchorage are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They met at WSU on a blind date when they were 18, and after graduating, were wed on June 16th, 1962 in Spokane, Wash.
They will enjoy an anniversary dinner at a family "Special Occasions" restaurant as a gift from their children. Monty is currently in Brisbane, Australia ,as an engineering instructor for Boeing and Joan is with the Commerce Dept. in Washington, D.C. They send their love and wish them many more anniversaries.
Monty was 4 and Joan was 1 when the family packed up an old truck and an eight-foot camper and headed up the ALCAN for Anchorage in 1968 where Howard had a teaching job at Romig Junior High. By 1973, Margo was teaching at Steller Secondary School. Howard became a home builder and the years "danced" by.
They semi-retired in 1996, and traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Greece and Eastern Europe. They spent the summers fishing in Alaska. In February they celebrated with 36 other couples at the Valle Del Oro RV Resort in Mesa, Ariz. Howard's sisters, Suzy and Cindy, were able to join them. In April, they toured Costa Rica.
