LENOX, Mass. - Julia D. Andrieni, MD and Robert Aaron Phillips, MD Phd were united in marriage at 5 p.m., September 5, 2010 at Wheatleigh in Lenox, Mass. Eve Sheridan, Justice of the Peace, officiated. Julia is the daughter of Mrs. Doris Portka and Mr. Andrew Portka and the late Mr. Frederick P. Andrieni, all of Augusta. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Chester of Wrightsville, Ga. and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Andrieni of Baltic, Mich. She received her B.A. from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and her M.D. from the State University of New York, Stony Brook Medical School. She is a board member of Alcoholism Council of New York and Corporator of the Worcester Art Museum. She is employed by UMass Memorial Medical Center as the Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center as the Chief of the General Internal Medicine Division. Robert is the son of Frank and Betty Phillips of New Hyde Park, N.Y. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schrier and the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Simkovsky, all of Brooklyn, N.Y. He received his B.A. from New College, Honors College of Florida in Sarasota, Fla. and his MD and PhD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, N.Y. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Hypertension and Founders Affiliute of the American Heart Assocation. He is employed by UMass Memorial Medical Center as the Director of the Heart and Vascular Center of Excellence and Senior Vice President. Julia chose her best friend, Dr. Morissa Baskin of Wenatchee, Wash., to serve as her best woman. The flower girl was Miss Kaitlyn Marie Brown of Martinez, Ga., great niece of the bride. Robert chose his best friend, Mr. Barry Goodman of Gulf Stream, Fla., to serve as his best man. The ring bearer was Mr. Kaleb Rodgers of Sugar Hill, Ga., great nephew of bride. The musicians were Eric Phillips, Emily Cooper, and Pam Mindell and the readers were Dr. and Mrs. David Young. Following the ceremony, a reception with dinner and dancing was held at the Wheatleigh. The newlyweds are honeymooning on The French Riviera and in Provence in the south of France. The couple will reside in Southborough, Mass.
