GROVETOWN, Ga. – Carrie Elizabeth Petrak and Michael Albert Preus were united in marriage on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 7 p.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grovetown, Ga. Father Michael Roverse officiated the ceremony.

Carrie is the daughter of Jayne and Thomas Petrak of Grovetown. She is the granddaughter of the late Martha and George Shiveler of Grovetown and George Petrak and the late Emily Petrak of Grovetown. In 2015, she received a BFA in dance from Kennesaw State University, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She is employed by Ballet Spartanburg as a dancer and dance instructor.

Michael is the son of Diane and Donald Preus of Marietta, Ga. He is the grandson of the late Sarah and Ray Thuerk of Arlington Heights, Ill., and the late Martha and Albert Preus of Chester, N.J. In 2014, he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, where he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He is employed by TTI as the lead product manager.

Given in marriage by her father, Carrie chose Kirsti Riehle of Boston, Mass., as her maid of honor and Lauren McKowen of Pooler, Ga., as her matron of honor. Both are friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Laura Petrak of Nashville, Tenn., sister-in-law of the bride, Haley Bourne of Martinez, Ga., Alyssa Cameron of Greenville, S.C., Holly Clark of Atlanta, Ga., Virginia Crowley of Charleston, S.C., Hannah Evans of Gainesville, Fla., Elizabeth Norman of Luverne, Ala., and Kaylin Treese of Pittsburgh, Pa., all friends of the bride. Flower girls were Marela Bevanda of Willoughby, Ohio, and Stella Siegel of Powell, Ohio, both cousins of the bride.

The best man was Matthew Passarello of Atlanta, Ga., friend of the groom. Groomsmen and ushers were Andrew Petrak of Nashville, Tenn., brother of the bride, Stephen Bocarro of Marietta, Ga., Austin Davis of Canton, Ga., Charles Freeney of Savannah, Ga., Nathan Norowski of Smyrna, Ga., David Southern of Mableton, Ga., Karl Staber of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tyler Steindorf of Baton Rouge, La., and Eisa Yamanda of Atlanta, Ga., all friends of the groom. Ring bearers were Maceo Siegel of Bay Village, Ohio and Leo Siegel of Powell, Ohio, both cousins of the bride.

The couple's reception was held at Savannah Rapids Pavilion in Martinez, and they honeymooned in Dubrovnik, Croatia. They reside in Piedmont, S.C.
