AUGUSTA - Jennifer Loflin Blanchard and Peter Michael McCoy, Jr. were united in marriage at 7 p.m., June 19, 2010 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Augusta. Rev. Robert Duncan Fain officiated. Jennifer is the daughter of Ms. Patricia Loflin Blanchard of Augusta and Mr. Elmer Ralph Blanchard of Decatur, Ga. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Robert Loflin of Augusta and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Allen Blanchard of Decatur, Ga. She is a 1998 graduate of the Richmond Academy, a 2002 graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.A. in English and a 2007 graduate of the Charleston School of Law. She is employed by Corlock, Copeland & Stair as an Associate Attorney. Peter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Michael McCoy, Sr. of Hartsville, S.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lucy Davis Coleman and the late Honorable George Franklin Coleman, Jr. of Winnsboro, S.C. and Mrs. Helen McCoy and the late Dr. James Joseph McCoy, Sr. of Charleston, S.C. He is a 1997 graduate of Evansville Day School and a 2001 graduate of Hampden Sydney College with a B.A. in History and Religion. He received his law degree in 2005 from Regent University. He is an Assistant Solicitor with the Ninth Circuit Solicitor's Office in Charleston. Given in marriage by her father, Jennifer wore an ivory sheath dress of silk organza with a brussels lace veil from Belgium and an heirloom locket belonging to her late grandmother, Mrs. Rubye Steed Loflin. Jennifer chose her friend, Miss Charlsie Kate Paine of Augusta, to serve as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Hope Tyler Coleman and Miss Marion Walker Coleman, both of Winnsboro, S.C. and cousins of the groom; Mrs. Katherine McClymonds Crane of New York City, N.Y., Miss Erin Leigh Hantske, Miss Lesley Ann Sasser, both of Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Stacey Horton McElrath of Birmingham, Ala., Miss Natalie Ann Spires of Augusta and Miss Audrey Helen Waters of Washington, D.C., all friends of the bride. Peter chose his father to serve as his best man. Groomsmen were George Coleman McCoy of Charleston, S.C., brother of the groom; George Franklin Coleman IV and Creighton Buchanan Coleman, Jr., both of Winnsboro, S.C. and cousins of the groom; Garland Matthew Morrison of Elizabeth City, N.C., Murray Stokeley Holder of Greenville, S.C., Gregory Stephen Farish, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., Christopher Mather Barnes and Matthew Van Benthuysen Cochrane-Logan, both of Charleston, S.C., all friends of the groom. Ushers were James Robert Loflin of Spring Island, S.C., cousin of the bride; John Estes Coleman and Chandler McNair Coleman, both of Winnsboro, S.C. and cousins of the groom and Winston Alven Lawton III of Estill, S.C., friend of the groom. Mr. James Edward Nord provided organ music and Mr. Gary Hipp played bagpipes on the church lawn following the ceremony. Readers were Miss Emily Carolyn Wright, friend of the bride, and Mr. Creighton Buchanan Coleman, uncle of the groom. Thomas Loflin Phillips, nephew of the bride, served as crucifer. The floral offerings were given to the Glory of God and in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Allen Blanchard, Mr. and Mrs. William Robert Loflin, grandparents of the bride, Dr. James Joseph McCoy, Sr. and The Honorable George Franklin Coleman, Jr., grandfathers of the groom, and Mr. Elmer Ralph Blanchard, Jr., brother of the bride. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Augusta Country Club. The newlyweds honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The couple resides in Charleston, S.C.
