AUGUSTA - Jamie Elizabeth Ruppert and James Thomas Murfee V were united in marriage Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. at The Partridge Inn in Augusta, Ga. Rev. Bart Brookins officiated. Jamie is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Partain Ruppert and the late Mr. James Ervin Ruppert of Hephzibah, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Robert Partain, Jr. and Mrs. Ruth Partain of Hephzibah and the late Mr. Norman Ruppert and the late Mrs. Cora Ruppert of Charleston, S.C. She is a 2010 graduate of Samford University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She is pursing a Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition at the University of Alabama. Tommy is the son of Mr. James Thomas Murfee IV and Mrs. Frieda Swift Murfee of Birmingham, Ala. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Swift, Jr. of Selma, Ala. and Mrs. Joe Berry and the late Dr. James Thomas Murfee III of Marion, Ala. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He will be employed by the accounting firm, KPMG, LLP, in October. Given in marriage by her mother, Jamie chose her friend, Miss Lael Calkins of Lilburn, Ga., to serve as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Anna Smith of Cullman, Ala., Amanda Herrington of Stone Mountain, Ga., Rebecca Gilmer of Atlanta, Ga., Maggie McDaris of Charleston, Ellen Davis of Birmingham, all friends of the bride, and Mary Robison Murfee of Birmingham, sister of the groom. Tommy chose his father to serve as his best man. Groomsmen were Gaines Murfee of Birmingham, brother of the groom, Andrew Golden of Birmingham, Woodruff Jones of Selma, Ala., Jordan Mahy of Gadsden, Ala., John Day of Birmingham, Stuart Jones of Birmingham, and Luke Jones of Selma, all friends of the groom. Wedding director was Andy Cissick. Photography was done by Jenna Day and Emily Stone. Musicians were Adrienne Scott, pianist, Keter True, guitarist and soloist, and Lael Calkins, soloist. Rev. Stafford Floyd, uncle of the bride, led prayer for the bride and groom. The bride wore her mother's veil. Her father's bible was used during the service. A silver goblet, from the family of the late Mrs. William Swift, maternal grandmother of the groom, was used for Communion. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Partridge Inn in Augusta. The newlyweds honeymooned in Bermuda. The couple resides in Birmingham.
