Katherine Herndon & James Mcphail

THOMASVILLE, Ga. - Katherine Elizabeth Herndon and James Britton McPhail were united in marriage at 6 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Thomasville, with Rev. Ronnie Wills officiating. Katherine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mills Herndon of Thomasville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson McKinnon of Thomasville and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Randall Herndon of Macon, Ga. Katherine graduated from Brookwood School in Thomasville in 2011. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Georgia in 2015, graduating magna cum laude. She is currently a third year student at Augusta University in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She will graduate in May 2018. Jim is the son of Drs. Franklin Edward and Nanci Platt McPhail of Augusta. He is the grandson of Mrs. Samuel Britton Platt III and the late Mr. Platt of Columbus, Miss., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Edward McPhail Sr. of Blackville, S.C. Jim graduated from Westminster Schools of Augusta in 2010. He received a BS in Chemistry from GCSU in 2014, graduating magna cum laude. He is currently a fourth year medical student at Augusta University, graduating in May 2018. He plans to continue his medical training with a residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Glen Arven Country Club in Thomasville. The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia and reside in Augusta. McPhail - Herndon
