50th Wedding Anniversary

EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Johnson commemorated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, June 16, 2018 during a celebration held at Old Macedonia Enrichment Center. Rev. Limuer Myers opened the program with a prayer and inspirational words about the couple. The event was a joyous occasion attended by family and friends who shared memories of the couple reaching back to their time dating in grade school.

James and Margie were married at the ages of 19 and 18 on June 15, 1968 in Edgefield, S.C. James, an Army veteran, worked at Kimberly Clark Corporation, and Margie worked at Savannah River Site. After retirement, the Johnsons continued their commitment to their family and community through volunteer work and active involvement in their church. They have never met a stranger and extend their hearts to help those in need.

They have five children including their son and daughter-in-law: Torrey and Jessica Johnson of Trenton, S.C., Kindra Johnson Sterling of Trenton, S.C., and Derrik and Latasha Anderson of Charlotte, N.C. The couple also has eight grandchildren: Ebony, Kevin, Marque, Christian, Kennedy, Camden, Logan and Lauren.

God has blessed them with a wonderful 50-year marriage, and they are blessed to share this time with loving friends and family.

We, your children, pray that God continues to bless you.
