Shayne Marie Harrington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Harrington of Milton, was married September 3, 2011 to John Michael Shaughnessy, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Shaughnessy of South Boston. The wedding ceremony was celebrated by the Reverend James O'Leary at St. Agatha Church, Milton. The Boston Archdiocese Choir School of St. Paul's, Cambridge, under the direction of John Robinson, performed during the ceremony.
A summer's eve reception with family and friends followed on the grounds of the Commandant's House in the Charlestown Navy Yard, overlooking the USS Constitution and the Boston Harbor. Mrs. Thomas Joyce of West Roxbury and Mrs. Edward McGuire of South Boston, maternal grandmothers of the wedding couple, were in attendance. The matron of honor was Karen Plunkett, friendof the bride. Bridesmaids were sister-in-law Sarah Shaughnessy, and friends Kerri Palamara, Maura Lavelle, Dawn Flibotte, Nichole Mikshenas, Julie Doherty, and Michele Viani. The junior bridesmaid was Brenna Rose Fleming, goddaughter and cousin of the bride.
The groom's best man was his brother and best friend, Ryan Shaughnessy. Groomsmen included brother of the bride Ryan Harrington and friends Patrick Lee, Christopher Graul, Kevin Lee, Zachary Sawyers, Brendan Lee, and Matthew Lydon.
The bride is the senior buyer for Fleming Jewelers, Boston. She is a 2002 graduate of Providence College, and a 2005 graduate of the McCormack School, University of Massachusetts, Boston. The bridegroom is an officer with the Boston Police Department. He is a 2003 graduate of Northeastern University.
The couple honeymooned in the Hawaiian Islands.
