Bill and Barbara Vines of South Yarmouth celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary at a Mass in Our Lady of the Highway Chapel in South Yarmouth.
The couple were married on May 24, 1952 in St. Columbkille's Church, Brighton, MA. After their marriage they resided in Arlington, MA with their growing family for 34 years. They then relocated to the Cape to their then summer home. A veteran of World War II (745th tank battalion) Bill worked for many years in the construction equipment and automobile parts business. Barbara, a graduate of Regis College was a Dietitian and Assistant Manager for Tufts University Dining Services. Bill is a past exalted ruler of the Hyannis Elks and a Charter member of St. Pius Council Knights of Columbus. Both are members of the Irish American club of Cape Cod. They have been blessed with four children: William Jr. and his partner Mary Furlong of Killington, VT, Peter and his wife Joan of Billerica, Janice Gouveia and her husband Kevin of Rehoboth and John and his wife Georgina of Toms River, NJ. They are also the proud grandparents of eight .
