Photo: Bert Reed Photography Hedgecock-Duke Ashlyn Blythe Duke of Matthews and Bradley Stephen Hedgecock of High Point were married on September 1, 2013, at six o'clock in the evening. The ceremony was held at WinMock at Kinderton in Bermuda Run with Rev. Mark O. Hollar officiating. A dinner reception was held upstairs in The Loft. The bride is the daughter of Henderson and Karen Duke of Charlotte. She is the granddaughter of the late Lois Lawing Holshouser, Lawrence Duke, Sr. and Eleanor Henderson Duke, all formerly of Charlotte. Ashlyn is a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Spanish, then later earned a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Cytotechnology. Ashlyn is employed as a cytotechnologist at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem. The groom is the son of Mark and Janice Hedgecock of High Point. He is the grandson of Carole Hedgecock and the late Arthur Linzo Hedgecock, Wesley Eugene Mills and Mamie Louise Cross Mills, all of High Point. Bradley is a graduate of Ledford High School. He attended Guilford Technical Community College where he earned his Associate in Applied Science in Graphic Design. Bradley is employed as a graphic designer at Elite Displays & Design in Thomasville. The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was Neely Schmidt Rose, childhood friend of the bride, of Charlotte. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister-in-law, Emily Cauthen Duke of Charlotte; Elisa Smith of Charlotte; and Ansley Austin Suarez of Davidson. An honorary bridesmaid was Christina Squires of High Point. The best man was the groom's father. Groomsmen were the groom's brother, Christopher Hedgecock of High Point; the bride's brother, Jared Duke of Charlotte; Brandon Green of Garner; and David Womack of Wallburg. The guest-register and program attendants were Katie Edwards of Chapel Hill and Meridith Martin of Kernersville. Ushers were Daniel Rose of Charlotte and John Weavil of Asheville. The wedding was directed by the bride's friend, Patty Baum of Chapel Hill. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in High Point.
