Booker 60th Anniversary
Samuel and Elizabeth Booker celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary August 5, 2014.
What started as an escort home at the direction of their coach after a basketball game became a lifelong journey of love, trust and devotion to each other. He is a retired federal regional administrator and she was a substitute teacher before devoting her life to raising their children. The Bookers renewed their vows 10 years ago with a formal wedding ceremony at the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, where they are charter members. They enjoy cruising and have traveled extensively including Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, and most recently a return trip to Alaska. They are the proud and thankful parents of Rita (Kenneth) Parson and Stephan (Deborah) Booker, 3 grandchildren, Samuel and Matthew Parson and Tenecia (Anwar) Al-Uqdah and 1 great-grandchild, Kyra Al-Uqdah.
