Wiggins - Johnson
Lauren Nichelle Dobbs Wiggins and Christian Keidric Johnson were united in Holy Matrimony on June 15, 2013, at St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church with Rev. Zan Wesley Holmes, Jr., officiating. The reception was held at the church.
The bride is the daughter of Kevin B. Wiggins and Paula Dobbs-Wiggins of Dallas and granddaughter of the late Wyman and Dolores Wiggins of Fort Worth, TX and the late Paul and Christine Dobbs of St. Louis, MO. The groom is the son of Evelyn and Edward Jackson of Cedar Hill, TX and Charles Johnson of Desoto, TX and the grandson of the late Thomas and Louella Lane Williams of Center, TX and Robert and Annie Faye Johnson of Center, TX.
The bride's attire was coordinated by her aunt, Karen L. Wiggins. She wore a simple yet elegant ivory silk satin A-line couture gown with a chapel train designed by Reem Acra. The bodice was hand-embroidered with flowers, each having Swarovski lochrosen crystals in the center. The gown was adorned with a custom, two-tiered ivory illusion royal cathedral length veil with silver, richly embroidered scalloped edges. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies, roses and orchids. Ceremony music was provided by a string quartet comprised of Kyle, Paul, and Kevin J. Wiggins, the bride's brothers and Adrien May her godsister. Roderick Demmings, Jr. served as organist and Xavier Goode as trumpeter.
The maid of honor was Krystal Harris, friend of the bride, of Dallas and the matron of honor was Kristin Chan, cousin of the bride, of Rockville, MD. The best man was Kelvin Starks, friend of the groom, of Glenn Heights, TX. Lauren is a graduate of The Hockaday School, Harvard College and the UT School of Medicine in San Antonio. She is currently a Resident in Opthalmology at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Christian is a graduate of Desoto High School, The University of Phoenix and St. Mary's University School of Law. He is currently engaged in the private practice of law in Dallas.
The couple honeymooned on a cruise in the Gulf of Mexico.
