Mortenson - Golding
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Golding of Dallas, Texas joyfully announce the marriage of their son, Mr. Garrett Golding, to Ms. Elizabeth Mortenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mortenson of Honeoye, New York.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Honeoye Central School in Honeoye, New York, and a 2006 graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo. Like Garrett, Elizabeth moved to Washington after graduating college and currently works for NiSource Inc., a natural gas and electric utility holding company.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Coppell High School and a 2006 graduate of Baylor University. He completed a master's degree in national security and strategic studies at the United States Naval War College in 2012. He is now an analyst with The Rapidan Group, an oil market and political risk consulting firm in Bethesda, Maryland. The couple met on Capitol Hill in 2011 when Garrett was on staff with the House Energy & Commerce Committee and Elizabeth was an aide to a congresswoman from California.
Garrett proposed to Elizabeth this past Valentine's Day and the wedding took place July 27 at Woodend Sanctuary, in Chevy Chase, Maryland. After a honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, the couple settled into their new home in Washington, DC. The newlyweds will visit Dallas in September for a reception with Texas family and friends.
