Brogdon - O'Neal
Skylar Ann Brogdon of Fort Worth and Stephen Patrick O'Neal of Dallas were united in marriage on May 4, 2013, at six thirty in the evening at Robert Carr Chapel on the TCU campus. Reverend T.J. Martinez, SJ, officiated the ceremony. Music was provided by the Deborah Brooks Chamber Ensemble with organist, Betty Boles.
Following the ceremony, a reception honoring the couple was held in the Champions Club of Amon G. Carter Stadium. Dinner stations were created by Tim Love. The bride's cake was provided by the Fort Worth Club and the groom's cake from Frosted Art Bakery. The flowers, provided by Garden Gate of Dallas, were lush arrangements of orchids, lilac, peonies, roses, hydrangeas and lisianthus. Cocktail trio, dinner and dancing was to the music of Simply Irresistible with the East Coast Entertainment Group. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Piola's Italian Restaurant on the eve of the wedding.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Patti Brogdon of Fort Worth. She is the granddaughter of Arnold and Juanita Parrish of Fort Worth and Frances Brogdon of Fort Worth and the late Harold Brogdon. Skylar is a graduate of Lake Country Christian School and Texas Christian University where she received her bachelor of arts degree in communication studies and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She is the Corporate Manager, Training and Events, with Omni Hotels and Resorts in Dallas.
The groom is the son of Steve and Kathy O'Neal of Dallas. He is the grandson of Mary Catherine Walsh and the late Robert Walsh, and the late Glenn and Jewell O'Neal. Stephen is a graduate of Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas and Texas Christian University where he received his bachelor of arts degree in economics and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi. He subsequently received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He is employed with Harris, Finley & Bogle, P.C. in Fort Worth.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of candlelight Alencon lace designed by Ines Di Santo for Stanley Korshak. The fitted silhouette was fashioned with a Bateau neckline draping over her shoulders, cascading to a deep "v" at the back with a soft, scalloped trumpet skirt. To complete her ensemble she wore a veil trimmed in matching French lace which swept beyond her chapel length train.
Serving as maid of honor was Landry Brogdon of Denver, Colorado, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Courtney Fadley, Lauri Ann Hanson, Kelsey Brandon, Christina O'Neal and Tiffany Trimble. The house party included Ashley Van Hoef and Lauren Howell. The flower girl was Emily Battersby.
Serving as best man was Trey Flowers of Memphis, Tennessee. Groomsmen were Mike Weaver, John Ansiaux, Patrick O'Brien, Jim Miller, Kyle Citrano, Nate Arnold, Ben Wilson and Brad Keiser. Ushers included Juan Saenz, Joe Glaser, Matt Foust, Scott Nichols and Brian Young. The ring bearer was Connor Davis.
After a honeymoon to London and Croatia, Skylar and Stephen will reside in Dallas, Texas.
