Dr. and Mrs. Richard Martell Vigness of Fort Worth are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Katherine, of Fort Worth to James Robertson Clarke of Charlotte, North Carolina. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Honorable and Mrs. Joe Bruce Cunningham of Fort Worth and the late Dr. and Mrs. David Martell Vigness of Lubbock, Texas.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hal Clarke, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hal Clarke, Sr. of Atlanta, Georgia, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Brison Oakley Robertson, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama.
The bride-elect attended Trinity Valley School and is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Theatre and Dance and was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is a graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor. She is a member of the Junior League of Washington and is an Advisory Director of the What Would Willie Want Foundation.
The prospective bridegroom attended Charlotte Latin School in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is a graduate of Washington and Lee University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He received a Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee School of Law. He is a Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation Associate with McGuireWoods LLP.
The couple is planning an August 2013 wedding at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth with a reception to follow at The Fort Worth Club.
