Sammy and Sandra celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 19, 2014. A celebration dinner was held on Saturday, June 21st at Los Vaqueros Restaurant in the Fort Worth stockyards area, hosted by their son, Sammy Jr., daughter-in-law Susan and their two grandsons, Sammy III and Seth Lowe Tork. They shared many stories, visited with family and friends, took memorable pictures, including cutting of the anniversary cake. All of this completing the celebration of their special day.
Sammy Tork and Sandra Azzaro were married at Asbury Methodist Church in Haltom City, Texas on June 19, 1964. Sammy retired from the Fort Worth Star Telegram after 35 years, Sandra retired from American Airlines after 20 years, having previously worked for Birdville Independent School District and Cross Plains oil field suppliers. After Sammy's retirement they purchased their very own "Cheers Bar" in Fort Worth, "The Office" and haven't slowed down yet...
Their favorite enjoyments have always included love of gardening, horses, camping and fishing, with yearly trips to Port Aransas, Falcon Lake in Zapata, Texas, Florida, Mississippi, and working airline trips abroad. They look forward to a celebratory return trip to Italy and Sicily later in the fall and a cruise.
The years pass so quickly, thank God for their love and 50 years together!!!
