Jim Babe and Jackie Anita McClellen Gause celebrated 60 years of marriage on October 18, 2013. They were married in Fort Worth at Turner Memorial Baptist Church. Jim was in the U.S. Navy and Jackie was a broadcast major at TCU. Jim graduated from Texas Wesleyan College and Jackie from UTA. They both earned their master's at Brite Divinity School at TCU and Jim received his PhD in Counseling from Louisiana. Jim served churches in Central Texas as pastor and Jackie served as Christian educator at First UMC in Mansfield. They are now retired from active ministry in the United Methodist Church.
Prior to ministry, Jim was with the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps and also the U.S. AEC at Rocky Flats, Colorado. Jackie was a Supervisor Histologist in Neuropathology laboratories at U.T. Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas.
They have been blessed with five children, Jill, Jo, Jim, Jayna and Jennifer. A celebration of this anniversary was hosted by their children and spouses, Bill, Joanie and Mike. They are equally proud of their five grandchildren, Kaylee, Corey, Taylor, Alex and David, who are outstanding.
They enjoy traveling and have been to Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Jim enjoys assisting others with Native American genealogy and Jackie continues to lead bible studies.
