Robert R. ?Rob? and Heidi Simmons are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Jane Adams to Daniel Smith Meiser at Calvary Episcopal Church on September 22, 2012 in Stonington, CT. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Alfred Tisdale. The best man was Dr. Edgar Meiser, father of the groom. The reception was held at the Simmons Family Home on North Main Street, Stonington, where the newlyweds arrived by boat driven by the bride?s brother Robert and accompanied with bagpipes. The rehearsal dinner on September 21 was held at the Wadawanuck Yacht Club where is bride is a Member of the Board of Governors. The bride is the daughter of former Congressman and retired Army Colonel Rob Simmons and his wife Heidi who teaches at the Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London. She is the granddaughter on her father?s side of the late Charles Herbert and Roxane Ruhl Simmons of Gwynedd, PA, Dorset, VT and Stonington, CT; and on her mother?s side of the late Frederic Chauncey and Edith Rizer Paffard, Jr., of Mountain Lake, FL, Sewickley, PA and Stonington, CT. The groom is the son of Patricia Meiser of Manchester, CT, Director of Athletics and Special Assistant to the President of the University of Hartford and Dr. Edgar W. Meiser, Jr., of Logantown, PA. He is the grandson on his father?s side of the late Dr. Edgar W. Meiser and Dr. Mary Ellen Smith Meiser of Lancaster, PA; and on his mother?s side of the late William Brunner and Elizabeth Hudson Hofmann, also of Lancaster, PA. The Bride is a graduate of Norwich Free Academy, Choate Rosemary Hall and Trinity College in Hartford, CT, with a degree in English Literature. She currently works as executive Director of the LaGrua Center in Stonington. The Groom is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, with a degree in Political Science. He is the owner and operator of the highly acclaimed and award winning Oyster Club restaurant in Mystic, CT, which specializes in farm-to-table dining. The couple will reside at 270 North Main Street in Stonington after a honeymoon in Italy.
