Katelyn Berkemeyer & Michael Sharp

Miss Katelyn Elizabeth Berkemeyer and Mr. Michael Alexander Sharp were united in marriage on October 5, 2019 at six o'clock in the evening at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Thomas Harper of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and Reverend Wayne Wilkerson of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Music for the ceremony was provided by Accent Chamber Music, organist Mr. Rob Landes and soloist Ms. Lauren Neatherlin Lytle. A reception immediately followed at The Corinthian with entertainment provided by Georgia Bridgewater Orchestra. On the eve of the wedding the parents of the groom hosted a Rehearsal Dinner at the Junior League of Houston.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wagner Berkemeyer of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Berkemeyer of Pryor, Oklahoma and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Johnston of Lula, Oklahoma.
The groom is the son of the Honorable and Mrs. William James Sharp of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the Honorable and Mrs. Donald Raymond Sharp of Palestine, Texas, Ms. Eleanor Jane Suire of Austin, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Darvin Alfred Bordelon of Pearland, Texas.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. The ivory strapless gown of silk gazar featured a dramatic sweetheart neckline with a beautiful draped fitted bodice. The full A-line skirt fell into a soft chapel train. To compliment her gown, the bride chose a light ivory illusion cathedral veil edged with re-embroidered lace designed by Toni Federici. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet composed of Ivory Garden Roses, White Ranunculus, Ivory Spray Roses and White Astilbe.
Serving as her maid of honor was Ms. Virginia Marie Melo, and as her matron of honor was Mrs. Elise Johnson Swann. Bridesmaids included sister-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Emily Sharp Nipper, Ms. Allyson Camp, Mrs. Laura Puckett Edquist, and Ms. Lauren Neatherlin Lytle. House Party included Mrs. Amy Katheryne Bay, Ms. Caroline Maggie Melo and Mrs. Emily Ryan Williams.
Mr. Sutter Patrick Sharp, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included brother-in-law of the groom, Mr. Benjamin James Nipper, Mr. David Parker Willis Jr., Mr. Noah Benjamin Baker, Mr. Michael Denney Wright, Mr. Brent Wilson Fescenmeyer, Mr. Ryan Phillip Caillier and Mr. Ryan Scott Gitomer. Serving as Ushers were Mr. Jeffrey Mark Pearson, Mr. Christopher Mark Eldredge, Mr. Paul Shepard Beauchamp, Mr. Travis Alan Henson, Mr. Timothy Guy Skinner, and cousin of the bride, Mr. Dillon Roy Johnston.
Katelyn is a 2005 graduate of Episcopal High School in Houston, Texas. She attended Vanderbilt University and graduated in 2009 with a degree in Spanish and European Studies. She received a Master's in Accounting in 2010 from the University of Texas and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. The bride is currently employed at RBC Capital Markets in Houston, Texas.
Michael is a 2007 graduate of St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas. He is a 2011 graduate of Louisiana State University where he received a degree in Finance and is a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He received a Master's in Finance in 2012 from Louisiana State University. The groom is currently employed at RBC Capital Markets in Houston, Texas.
Following their honeymoon in Hawaii the couple will reside in Houston, Texas with their dog, Penny.
