Miss Lily Hawes Morris and Mr. Johnathan Andrew Schnitzer were united in marriage on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in an intimate ceremony with close family and friends in attendance at the bride's family vacation home in San Clemente, California. The double ring ceremony held at sunset was officiated by Pastor Nate Castro and blessed by Rabbi Larry Seidman, with music provided by Django Foxtrot, a string quartet from Los Angeles.
Following the ceremony, celebratory recessional music played as the bride and groom led their guests along the path of an English garden to the terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean for cocktails, dinner, and a night of dancing.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a beautiful rehearsal dinner on the grounds of the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach. A special evening of dinner, dancing, and toasts were enjoyed in celebration of the couple and the bride's birthday.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sterling McKinley Morris of Wharton, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hawes III of Wharton, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Willard Morris of Amarillo, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael John McGhan and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Weingarten Schnitzer Sr., of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Marjorie Jean Adams, the late Mr. Richard Clayton Ainslie, Mrs. Joan Weingarten Schnitzer, the late Mr. Kenneth Lee Schnitzer, all of Houston, Texas, and Dr. And Mrs. Bernard Charles Bruce of Texarkana, Texas.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an off shoulder white organza couture gown overlaid with multiple tiers of Chantilly lace, designed by Zuhair Murad. The fitted bodice was embellished with three-tiered pagoda style sleeves and was belted with a silk grosgrain sash.  Helping to create a vision of elegance, lightness and romanticism, the paternal grandmother gave the bride her heirloom multi-strand pearl and diamond choker and diamond cluster pearl drop earrings to wear as something borrowed.
Lily carried a bouquet of lily of the valley tied with a blue silk hand-dyed ribbon as a gift from her groom.
Serving the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Jane Sterling Morris, of Houston, Texas, who wore a pale coral embroidered dress and carried a hand gathered bouquet of warm pink garden roses.
Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Douglas Weingarten Schnitzer Jr., of Houston, Texas. His groomsmen and ushers were his brothers Robert Charles Schnitzer and Stephen Kenneth Schnitzer, of Austin, Texas.
Lily is a 2009 graduate of W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, and received a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the Moody College of Communication from the University of Texas. The bride is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and is currently employed at Longoria Collection.
The groom is a 2009 graduate of The Kinkaid School in Houston and received a Bachelor of Corporate Communications degree from the University of Texas. He was a member of the University of Texas National Champion Men's Golf Team. Johnathan is a private wealth advisor at Americana Partners in Houston, Texas.
Following their honeymoon to Montecito, California, the couple has made their home in Houston, Texas.
