HAWN - RHEA
Knoxville enjoys its first dog park wedding.
Robin Nicole Hawn, daughter of Perry and Linda Hawn, and Kristopher Ryan Rhea, son of Roy and Melanie Rhea, were married on June 2, 2012, at the
PetSafe Downtown Dog Park in Knoxville.
After a honeymoon in Key West and the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn., the couple will reside in Knoxville.
The bride is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University and American Intercontinental University and is employed with Radio Systems Corp.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and is employed with King College.
The intimate wedding included 130 human guests and five dogs gathered beneath the sunshine in the PetSafe Downtown Dog Park.
The bride arrived in her
father's red Jaguar XKE, which as a British car
enthusiast, he restored
himself. Along with the bride's niece, the couple's French bulldog, Buckley, served as flower girl, and canine friend Pez served as ring bearer. The whimsy of the Rhea wedding continued during a reception in the beer garden and The Underground of London gastropub The Crown and Goose. In honor of their guests, the Rheas made a donation to Young-Williams Animal Center. For a couple who created a joyful, magical marriage of British culture and Fido-friendly fun in the heart of downtown Knoxville, the beauty and uniqueness of the celebration was only outshined by their clear and crazy love for each other.
