Dr. and Mrs. Brad Stevens of Macon, Georgia announce the marriage of their daughter McKenzie Elizabeth Stevens to Richard Kim Ellis, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Kim Ellis of Charlotte, North Carolina. The ceremony was held at the Furman University Chapel in Greenville, South Carolina on August 24, 2013 with The Honorable Steve Hearne officiating.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Judge Wilbur Owens, Jr. and Betty Owens of Macon, Georgia and the late Dr. Ed Stevens and Norma Stevens of Macon, Georgia. McKenzie was a 2005 graduate of Stratford Academy and a 2009 graduate of Furman University. She is currently employed in the marketing department of Jack Henry in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. Edward Sykes and the late Doris Sykes and Gene Ellis of Raleigh, North Carolina.and the late Marcia Ellis.
Kim was a 2002 graduate of South Mecklenburg High School and a 2006 graduate of Gardner Webb University and received his M.B.A. from Gardner Webb University in 2008. He is currently employed with Suntrust Bank in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The bride was escorted by her father, Dr. Brad Stevens. Bridesmaids were Link Leskosky, maid of honor, Kasey Ellis, sister of the groom, Sally Mercer, Julia Gatten, and Kathryn Mudge. Groomsmen were Mr. Kim Ellis, father of the groom and best man, Scott Stevens, brother of the bride, Brad Stevens, brother of the bride, Corey Thrush, and Eric Proctor.
The couple resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.
