Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jere Cater, Sr. celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary on August 31, 2013.
Mr. Cater and the former Nancylee Rast were married August 31, 1968, in Columbia, S.C.
They celebrated their Anniversary with a trip to Atlanta over Labor Day weekend.
While in Atlanta, they had the special privilege of visiting with the Pastor who performed their wedding, Bishop L. Bevel Jones, III. They have remained life-long friends with Bishop Jones and his family over the years.
Jere Cater is a graduate of Georgia Tech (B.M.E.) and the University of Georgia (M.B.A.).
He is currently working with his consulting engineering firm in Warner Robins. He is also singing with the Middle Georgia Choral Society. He is retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base and from U.S. Air Force Reserve (Col.). He is an active leader of Boy Scout Troop 400, and member of First United Methodist Church, Warner Robins.
Nancylee Cater is a graduate of Agnes Scott College (B.A.) and Candler School of Theology, Emory University (M.Div.).
She is an Elder in the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, currently serving as Pastor of the Rochelle/Pitts United Methodist charge in Wilcox County.
She formerly served as Executive Director of Macon Outreach at Mulberry.
Mr. and Mrs. Cater are the proud parents of two sons, Thomas Jere Cater, Jr. (Tamra), Eau Claire, WI, and John Owen Cater, Macon.
Celebration activities included Agatha's Mystery Dinner Theatre on Friday evening, and the Georgia Tech-Elon football game Saturday afternoon.
