Edna was born at home in the Medina County community of Acme and raised on a farm. She attended Seville School when all 12 grades were in one building, graduating with the class of 1936. Edna loved volunteering for her church and community and for Wadsworth Meals On Wheels, retiring in her 90's. Edna is a lifetime member of the Bethel Mennonite Church. Her favorite activities include needlework, painting with watercolor, and quilting with friends. She has donated many beautiful quilts for the Mennonite Relief Sale in Kidron (one purchased for over $7,000). She was known in her neighborhood as "the flower lady" for her beautiful flower garden and found much joy working in her vegetable garden.
On Sunday, September 9, there will be an Open House celebration from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. for family, friends and community, in the Fellowship Hall of the Bethel Christian Church (formally Bethel Mennonite Church), located at 2684 Seville Rd., Rittman.
