Autumn Marsden & Charles Scott

Autumn Nichelle Marsden of Pekin and Charles Anthony Scott of East Peoria were married at 4 p.m. July 8, 2017, at the Old Capitol Museum Senate Chamber in Iowa City, Iowa. The Rev. Richard Reckseen performed the ceremony.

Her parents are Michael and Rochelle Marsden of Pekin. His parents are Art and Jackie Woolard of East Peoria.

Maid of honor was Gabrielle Marsden of San Francisco, Calif. Bridesmaids were Cassie David of Madison, Wis., James Klimavicz of Ames, Iowa, Genna Chadderdon of Norwalk, Iowa, Stacey Carabello of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Tami Friedrich of Dunlap.

Best man was Zach Friedrich of Dunlap. Groomsmen were Denise Olt of Iowa City, Felicia Ooi of Iowa City, Michael Molumby of San Diego, Calif., Patrick Lansdon of Iowa City, and Josh McClanahan of San Francisco.

Ushers were Sophie Gaynor, Lisa Lansdon, Marie Gaine, Lace Marsden, Haley McClain and Rachel Marsden.

Ring bearer was Levi Brown and flower girl was Belle Rutledge.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bridegroom's parents, was held July 7, 2017, at North Ridge Pavilion in Coralville, Iowa.

The reception was held at Old Brick in Iowa City.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Aruba.

The bride, a graduate of Pekin Community High School, received a bachelor's degree in genetics from Iowa State University and a doctorate in genetics from the University of Iowa. She is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

The bridegroom, a graduate of East Peoria Community High School, received a degree in biological science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a doctorate in biology from the University of Iowa. He is a postdoctoral researcher at Baylor College of Medicine.

The newlyweds live in Houston, Texas.
