Strickland ö Freeman
Ashley Trainor Strickland and Christopher John Freeman were married on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, Savannah. The Reverend Mike Ricker of Savannah and Dr. Frank Parr of Columbus Georgia officiated.
A reception followed at Villa Marie, Isle of Hope. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Christopher Strickland of Savannah, Georgia, and the granddaughter of Mr. Richard Thomas Wood and Mrs. Bette Anderson Wood, Mr. Lewis Higbee Strickland and the late Mrs. Barbara Trainor Strickland, and Mrs. Marguerite Graham Anderson and the late Mr. George Hubert Anderson, all of Savannah, Georgia.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Anne Chenicek Freeman and the late Dr. John Paul Freeman of Arlington, Texas, and the grandson of the late Mr. Frank Calvin Freeman and Mrs. Hila Voorhees Freeman of Hamilton, New Jersey, and Dr. Albert George Chenicek and Mrs. Beth Mackey Chenicek of Princeton, New Jersey and Fort Worth, Texas.
The Maid of Honor was Ms. Sara Jane Strickland of Savannah, Georgia, and the Best Men were Mr. Sherkhan Ali Khan of Arlington, Virginia and Dr. Cole Gregory Easson of Birmingham, Alabama.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Anne Waters Jackson of Charleston, South Carolina; Ms. Leann Michelle Dominy of Valdosta, Georgia; Mrs. Sue Macleod Phelps of Monroe, Georgia; Mrs. Katherine Eckert Coyne of Birmingham, Alabama; Ms. Natalia Calvo-Senovilla of Birmingham, Alabama; Ms. Alexandra Gomez-Schweiger of Birmingham, Alabama.
Groomsmen were Dr. David Michael Baker of Hong Kong; Mr. Peter Bartholomae Blair of Birmingham, Alabama; Mr. Nathaniel Lane Wade of Birmingham, Alabama; Mr. Steve Padgett-Vasquez of Athens, Georgia; Mr. Alex Tamayo Wolf of Redmond, Washington, Dr. Donald Stephen Korn of Nashville Tennessee; Mr. Kenan Matterson of Birmingham, Alabama.
Ashley is a class of 2000 graduate of Savannah Country Day School, a 2004 graduate of Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and a 2006 graduate of The French Culinary Institute in New York City. She is a freelance Food Editor.
Chris is a class of 2000 graduate of Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth, Texas and a 2004 graduate of Connecticut College. He received his Master's degree in 2007 from Georgia Southern University and his Doctoral degree in 2012 from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is employed by the Smithsonian Marine Station.
After a honeymoon in Eleuthera, Bahamas, the couple resides in Fort Pierce, Florida.
