Jessica Renee Savage and James Steven Alford Jr. were married April 6, 2013 at 5 o'clock in the afternoon at the Harper-Fowlkes House in downtown Savannah. The Reverend Steven Schulte officiated.

The bride is daughter of Mrs. Christine Savage of Savannah, Georgia and the late Llewellyn 'Lew" Savage Jr. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sherman, of Savannah, and the late Mr. Llewellyn Savage Sr. and Ms. Frances Keyes Savage, of Concord, Mass.

The groom is the son of Mr. James Steven Alford Sr., Kingwood, Texas and Ms. Georgia Kimmey, of Lufkin, Texas. He is the grandson of Dr. Jack Alford, of Houston, and Ms. Helen Alford, of Georgetown, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. David Mooty, of Lufkin, Texas.

Given in marriage by her mother, the bride chose her sister Erica Savage, of Houston, Texas, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Taylor Burnham, of Newport Beach, Calif., Virginia Richards, of Savannah, Ga., and Katie Kimmey, of Lufkin, Texas.

The groom's childhood friend Evan Gamble, of Studio City, Calif., served as his best man. Groomsmen were Jay Cesak, of Austin, Texas, Reed Philen and Matt Smith, both of Houston, Texas. The bride's friend, MaSovaida Morgan, of London, gave a reading from The Prophet. The bride's nephew, Hunter Savage, of Albuquerque, was the ring bearer.

Following the couple's nuptials, family and friends gathered in the Harper Fowlkes House for cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a tour. The dinner reception was held in the open-air courtyard of the house.

The bride is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where she received a bachelor's degree in journalism. She works as an investigative reporter for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

The groom is a graduate of Saint Edward's University where he received a bachelor's degree in English. He works as a marketing specialist for the Christus Spohn Health System.

The newlyweds honeymooned in San Francisco and Napa Valley. They reside in Corpus Christi, Texas.
