Deville, Cruz to Unite
Mrs. Megan Dawes Brashears of Lafayette, Louisiana along with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nelson Deville of Grayson announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Ms. Shelby Nicole Deville, to Mr. Christopher Philip Cruz.
The bride-to-be is the step-daughter of the late Ronald Bryan Brashears; the granddaughter of Mrs. Theresa Broussard Dawes of Lafayette and the late Jimmy Murry Dawes; and Mr. Charles Nelson Deville of Lafayette and the late Delores Reynolds Deville.
The prospective groom is the son of Ms. Angela Jean Becnel of Lafayette and Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Dion Cruz of Cumming, Georgia. He is the grandson of Mrs. Miriam Rios Cruz of Cantonment, Florida and the late Frank Cruz Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Richard Becnel of Miramar; and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Earl Pearce of Lafayette. Chris graduated in 2011 from St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette. In 2015 he obtained a bachelor of arts from the Louisiana State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences in Baton Rouge and is currently employed with Best Buy.
Chris and Shelby have been together for eight years and they have one child, Christopher Cooper Cruz, who will serve as ring bearer.
The Reverend Dan LaTour will officiate the wedding ceremony at six o'clock in the evening, March 11, 2017, at Petroleum Club of Lafayette.
