Kathryn Elizabeth Thornton, of Zachary, and William Cody Ryder, of Pollock, were married in a 6 p.m. ceremony April 27 at St. James Episcopal Church. The Rev. Canon Stephen Chad Jones officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Candace Powell Thornton, of Zachary, and David Michael Thornton, of Baton Rouge.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Gresham Powell Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Seemann Thornton.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Joseph Ryder, of Pollock.
He is the grandson of Mae Brouillette Behler, of Pollock, the late Arthur Fred Behler and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Calvin Ryder.
The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Alicia Lauren Bohannon, and her matron of honor, Samantha Ashley Hughes. Bridesmaids were Laura Rush Petty, Mary Kathryn Powell, Paige Christian Powell, Tara Leigh Reeves and Elizabeth Carpenter Thornton. Flower girls were Abigail Marie Ryder and Grace Elizabeth Thornton.
The bridegroom was attended by his best man, Thomas Cole Ryder. Groomsmen were Brandon Alan Albin, Robert Earnest Alan Goff, David Charles Key, Bryan Christopher Ryder, Daniel Elijah Ryder and Michael Lee Thornton Sr. Ushers were Tyler Joseph Brooks, Cole Weston Constance and Patrick Hambrick Taylor. Ring bearer was Michael Lee Thornton Jr.
Readers were Courtney Goudeau Ryder and Liz Daniel Truitt. Gift bearers were Margaret Ganucheau Amacker and Brenda Behler Tracy.
A reception took place at the Hilton Capitol Center. Following a wedding trip to Maui, the couple will reside in Birmingham, Ala.
