Lane Alexandra Rucks and William Gerald McKnight were married in a 6:30 p.m. ceremony April 27 at Asbury United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Humphries officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ward Rucks IV, of Lafayette.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Wayne May, of Covington, and Mr. and Mrs. William Ward Rucks III, of Lafayette.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Markham Robin McKnight, of Baton Rouge.
He is the grandson of William Heard Wright Jr., of Baton Rouge, the late Mary Arwin "Pat" Wright, Marquita Markham McKnight, of Clinton, and the late Isaac Gerald McKnight.
The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Elizabeth Ann Bertrand. Bridesmaids were Caroline Alexis Goodson, Alexandra Whitney Hughes, Kristin Michelle Melancon, Lauren Michelle Osborne, Claudia Nicole Poch, Laura Camille Russell and Shaylyn Elizabeth Scott. Flower girl was Abigail Grace Scott.
The bridegroom was attended by his best man, Patrick Ellis McKnight. Groomsmen were Reynolds McKean Bromley, John Coyt Hutchison III, Daniel Lucian McKnight, Markham Scott McKnight, William Ward Rucks V, Robert Williams Scheffy III and Neal Cheek Walton. Ushers were Joseph Stevenson Black, John Tracey Laborde, Marc Evan Savoie and Kenneth Lee Swenson. Ring bearer was Luke McKnight.
Readers were Sydney Reed Turner and Amanda Lauren Williams. Program attendants were Austill Elizabeth May and Therese Catherine Scott.
A reception took place at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Home and Gardens. Following a wedding trip to St. Barts, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
