Blanchard 50th Anniversary Frank and Carole Kerr Blanchard were married on December 22, 1963. They credit the success of their marriage to their strong faith in God and their love and devotion to each other. They were high school sweethearts at Eau Claire High in Columbia, SC. They both credit the dynamic and awesome football coach, Art Baker, and his precious wife, Edith, with setting before them and others, a beautiful example of Christian marriage. Frank saw in Coach Baker the strong, Godly man that he wanted to be. He has tried to live his life in full compliance with God's will. He works faithfully at Chapin Baptist Church in many different capacities. He has an endless love for his church, his family, and his friends. Frank joined the Air Force after high school. He attended USC after completion of his four years of service. He continued his education in Chicago, training in the nuclear field with SCE&G. He was an operator at the VC Summer Nuclear Plant, and then became an instructor on the simulator until his retirement. In his spare time Frank is a caterer and a beekeeper. Carole went to USC and became an elementary teacher, having taught at Arden Elementary in Columbia, Dutch Fork in Ballentine, and Irmo Elementary in Irmo. She is presently enjoying grandchildren in her retirement. She is, also, being a caregiver for some special people in her life. Their son, Don, and his wife, Kelly, who have a daughter, Samantha (fifteen), and a son, Logan (eleven), live in Arden, NC. Their daughter, Denise, and her husband, Matt Lawson, and their daughters, Hannah (fourteen) and Abby (twelve) live in Chapin. Frank and Carole celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Alaska in July. They will spend their actual anniversay in Hilton Head where they went for their honeymoon.
