Today, September 1, 2013, Lee and Janet Pollard are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Rochester, Ohio and currently reside in Sheffield, Ala.
Their children are Dawn (Jeff) Mitchell of Dothan, Ala., Dana (Derrick) Wallace of Florence, Ala. and Heidi (Robert) Springfield of Livingston, Texas. They also have thirteen grandchildren: Benjamin, Luke and Olivia Mitchell and Sara Pifer; Hannah, Josiah, Harmony, Caroline, and Allie Wallace; Emalee, Abigail, Claire, and John Springfield. Their great-grandchildren are Calvin, Mazzy and Cooper Mitchell and Beckett and Baby Pifer.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pollard have resided in Ohio, Miss. and Ala. during their 50 years of marriage. Lee has farmed extensively, done remodeling, painting, and specialty carpentry while Janet has farmed alongside, been a housewife, and worked as a registered nurse during their married life.
They have made several extended foreign mission trips together, counseled with their church, and shown wonderful hospitality to family, friends, and exchange students through the years.
In honor of the couple, their children and families will enjoy a special family celebration. Lee and Janet are taking a train trip out West in celebration of their years together.
