Faith Johnson Landers and Billy Joe Woods, Jr. have chosen November 9, 2013 for their wedding. Vows will be exchanged at the childhood home of the bride in Leighton with Reverend Doctor Foster Eich officiating. A reception will follow at Tuscumbia Railroad Depot.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. Karen Landers of Leighton.
Ms. Landers is a 2007 graduate of Mars Hill Bible School. In 2011, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in History from The University of Alabama, as well as a license and certification in Etiquette and Protocol from The Protocol School of Washington. In 2013, she completed her Master's of Science degree summa cum laude in Conflict Mediation and Negotiation from The University of Alabama. Ms. Landers is currently employed in management with Anthropologie in Huntsville. She instructs etiquette and protocol with North Alabama schools, universities and private clients.
The prospective groom is the son of Mrs. Lena Hubbard of Muscle Shoals and the late Mr. Billy Woods of Spring Valley.
Mr. Woods is a 2002 graduate of Colbert County High School. He served five years in the United States Marine Corps as an intelligence analyst with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit completing two combat tours of duty. He was Honorably discharged as a sergeant in 2007. In 2010, Mr. Woods completed his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Political Science from The University of Alabama. He is employed with United States Investigative Services in Huntsville and will attend Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in the fall.
