The marriage of Miss Laura Ashton Starke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Alton Starke Jr. of Richmond, Virginia, to Mr. John Houston Barrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Steven Barrick of Brentwood, Tennessee, took place on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Saint Mary Catholic Church. The Monsignor Mark Richard Lane officiated.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Kathryn Calderwood Starke and Elizabeth Harrison Starke, sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Morgan Carleton, Alicia Beth Personne, Katherine Leigh Roach and Taylor Dabney Shoemaker, all friends of the bride.
Dominic Inglot, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Steven Johnson Barrick and William Sanders Barrick, brothers of the groom; and Andrew Courtney, Lee Singer and Sanam Singh, all friends of the groom.
Readers were Dr. Michael Day, uncle of the groom, and Sean McKinley Daniels, cousin of the bride. Program attendants were Rachael Emily Exon and Erin Elizabeth Gallagher. The soloist was Gina McKenzie. Floral arrangements were designed by Elizabeth Zimmerman.
The bridesmaids' luncheon, hosted by the bride's aunts, was held at The Berkeley Hotel. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held at Main Street Station. The reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held at Hermitage Country Club.
The bride is a graduate of Mills E. Godwin High School and the University of Virginia. The groom is a graduate of Heritage Covenant School and the University of Virginia.
The couple will reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
