Sarah Ann Petter and Jason Craig Elliott were united in marriage on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West by the Very Rev. Ed Karasek and Fr. Stephen Nesrsta, uncle of the bride, concelebrating the mass. A reception, dinner and dance followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall in West. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall in West.
Sarah is the daughter of Evelyn and the late Daniel Petter, of West. She is the granddaughter of Doris Nesrsta and the late Ed Nesrsta and the late Victor and Martha Petter, all of Abbott. Sarah is a 2001 graduate of West High School and a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2005, where she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She is also a 2007 graduate of Tarleton State University where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Human Resources.
Jason is the son of Dean and Charlene Elliott of McGregor. He is the grandson of the late Thelma Elliott and Bill and Louise Walters, all of McGregor. Jason is a 1996 graduate of McGregor High School and a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2000, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management.
The bride's Uceda dress was a delicate re-embroidered Spanish lace wedding gown with a flattering sweetheart neckline and lovely scallops from the Costura 2013 collection by Pronovias. A satin ribbon belt with delicate silver beading emphasized the waist of the A-line dress. The romantic skirt ended in a beautiful wave at the hem. She wore a chapel length veil edged in lace. Sarah carried a bouquet of maroon and ivory peonies, garden roses, anemones and accented with Queen Anne's lace and Italian variegated pittosporum. Entwined in her bouquet was a
rosary from her 1st Communion as well as a picture of her and her father in a heart shaped frame.
Elizabeth Petter served as maid of honor and Jennifer Martinka served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Annette Elliott, niece of the groom, Kelciey Petter, sister-in-law of the bride, Becky Petter, Lisa Peterson and Niki Nesrsta, cousins of the bride, and Wendy Sustala, Amanda Rigney, Kelly Gray, Kelsey Miller and Jennifer Hawkes, friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Azlee Mann and Madeley Glasscock, nieces of the groom, and flower girl was Halleigh Petter, niece of the bride.
House party members were Amy Conditt and Jillian Nesrsta, cousins of the bride and Dalani Elliott, Brittan Elliott and Bailey Elliott, nieces of the groom.
Chris Elliott, nephew of the groom, and Cort Anderson and Adam Goldenberg, friends of the groom served as best men. Groomsmen were Brian Petter, brother of the bride, Tyler Elliott, nephew of the groom, and Gary Emmons, Mark Lorenzo, Nick Sans, Matt Farquhar, Brian Smith, Justin Wiethorn, and Raj Akolkar, friends of the groom. Ring bearers were Hunter Petter, nephew of the bride and Clayton Mann and Caden Elliott, newphews of the groom.
Caleb Petter and Kyle Nesrsta, cousins of the bride, performed the readings at the mass. Witnesses were Teresa and Anthony Peterson, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Betty Frase and Bill Walters, aunt and uncle of the groom. Gift bearers were Edward Nesrsta, godfather of the bride, and Calvin and Starlette Gerik. Eucharistic ministers were Larry Nesrsta, uncle of the bride and Kyle Nesrsta.
Vocalists were Pam Rodrigues and Patsy Winston. Dorothy Kucera provided music for the wedding. The wedding march was led by David and Johnie Glomb.
Sarah and Jason honeymooned in Arenal, Costa Rica and are making their home in Waco.
