Ashley Bennett Young of Winston-Salem and Brice Sawyer Gibson of Wrightsville Beach were married at 6:30 p.m. on June 8 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem by Dr. John Robert Nations.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Robert Young of Winston-Salem. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John George Gallins of Winston-Salem and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Nathaniel Young. She graduated from North Carolina State University and College of Health Sciences in Concord. She works for Genesis Healthcare.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stewart Gibson of Rocky Mount. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Austin Robbins and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward McLaurin Gibson. He graduated from North Carolina State University and is a financial advisor with Edward Jones in Wilmington.
The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride's sister, Kelly Young Williams of Winston-Salem. The bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Margaret Gibson Arnett of Washington, D.C.; the groom's sister-in-law, Gardner Annas Gibson of Raleigh; Sarah Burton Graper of Richmond, Va.; Ashley Gail Lewis of Raleigh; Anna Henderson Brantley, Dorothy Lee Hutchison, Rebecca Jane Reigel Ponton and Margaret Peden Wright, all of Charlotte; and Millie March Crockett and Marisa Gray LaVallee, both of Winston-Salem.
The best man was the groom's father. The groomsmen were the groom's brother, Duncan McLaurin Gibson of Raleigh; the groom's brother-in-law, Cameron Andrews Arnett of Washington, D.C.; the groom's cousin, John William Robbins of Augusta, Ga.; the bride's brother-in-law, David Wells Williams of Winston-
Salem; Julius Gladstone Dees IV of Raleigh; David Meyer Snow of Rocky Mount; and Bruce Barclay Cameron IV, David Murchison Eggleston Jr., Henry Clay McQueen Emerson, Frank Reynolds Miars and Carlton Gene Purvis Jr., all of Wilmington.
The flower girls were the bride's cousin, Jeannie Ellen Reed, Martha Ann Patterson Butler and Anna Glenn Craven. The ring bearer was the bride's cousin, Jacob Gallins Hondros.
Ceremony music was performed by Susan Bates, organist. The program attendants were CeCelia Lanier Butler, John Peter Hondros, Rachel Reade Kornegay, and Rebecca Beale Kornegay.
A reception was held at Old Town Club in Winston-Salem. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was also held at the club.
The couple will live in Wrightsville Beach.
