Scheffman Phyllis and John Scheffman of Lancaster celebrated their 60th anniversary on June 16th. They were married in 1953 in Towson, MD. John currently works for Manheim auto Auction and is the retired owner/operator of Shorty Mack's Ice Cream. Phyllis, together with her husband, was also an owner/ operator of Shorty Mack's Ice Cream on Columbia Ave., in Lancaster. They have three children, Belinda and husband, Carl LeFever of Lancaster, Melanie and husband, Greg McMullen of Lancaster and Jennifer and husband, Sam Martin of Dallastown; 10 grandchildren, Lewis, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Caleb and Jared LeFever, Gretchen and Brittany McMullen and Daniel and Eli Bitner; and one great-grandchild, Cannon LeFever. Phyllis and John met at a restaurant in Red Lion, where Phyllis was working as a waitress and John was a customer. Following their wedding they honeymooned in Niagara Falls. To celebrate their 60th anniversary they took a trip to Niagara Falls to revisit the hotel they stayed in during their honeymoon in 1953. Phyllis and John also treated their family to a Dinner Cruise on the Pride of the Susquehanna.
